WK4 Flower OG Kush

Amazing Bud Development + Lots of Trichomes!

What’s up GreenBox Growers and welcome back for week 12 overall for the OG Kush Screen of Green Grow Series! Now this is also the beginning of week 4 for flower, so I am thinking this is going to be about a 628 week flowering strain. So we are about halfway or almost at the halfway range for the flowering period. Now every day or every 24 hour period, you can see there is a tremendous amount of change in growth and in terms of Bud development. And that bud sweetener or that grape flavor that we have been adding every watering, I can definitely tell that is helping and adding some nice flavors to the smell of the buds.

Now this week is going to be another simple one as we are really just wanted to focus on maintaining those ideal conditions in the grow room as well as lowering the lights and doing a little bit of defoliate in here and there. So we are also going to be continuing with the nutrient and watering schedule as well as that bud grape sweetener we were talking about earlier. And finally we are also going to be maintaining that high CO2 level in the grow room with those tnb Naturals CO2 canisters. So CO2 is really important during the flowering phase especially during the early to Middle stages so we want to keep pumping that in there with these canisters.

So that is why I am refilling them every 2 weeks right on schedule so that way we always have the maximum amount of CO2 we can have in the grow tent. Alright folks so now that you know what we are doing in this week's episode of the OG Kush grow, let's get started with day one of the week!

Here we are for day one of the week, so let's do a quick update and look at how the buds have developed since yesterday's clip. You can see they are getting really Frosty at this point in the buds I really starting to stack up from the top all the way down to the lower parts of the canopy. And again just getting really potent with smell, you can see when we get up close they are getting Frosty on the sugar leaves now let me see if I can give you guys a better look of that here. I will give you another shot of that in a second though so you guys can see but really quickly just wanted to give you guys an overview or an overall look at all of the buds and how they are developing.  So very excited on this development thus far.

So for today it is going to be a simple one, we are going to be doing our small watering, this is just 2 spray bottles worth of water, mixed up with 1.5 teaspoons of the grape sweet by Botanicare. We are going to of course shake up the CO2 canisters which I have already done, and then we are going to be lowering the lights another Eng. So a very routine update today, we will be doing a little bit of deflation as well as there are areas that have gotten a little bit thick with foliage and there is some light being blocked out but not too much.

So we don't have to worry too much about that. All right folks so that pretty much concludes today's update, I'm going to go ahead and do that water now and then lowering of the lights. And then we will see you back here in 24 hours for day 2 of the week!

We are now back here for the second day of the week, and the plants are ready for their next full watering. So right here in this bucket up got two gallons mixed up with a full tablespoon of the grape sweet bad sweetener by Botanicare. So I will be splitting that between all four of the plants here, and besides that we are going to be shaking out the CO2 canisters of course. And I won't be lowering the lights today as we did that yesterday, but tomorrow I will be definitely lowering them another inch. Not really her today I did a good amount of  defoliation on all 4 of the plants and you can see what I took off right here in this trash bag.

It is about 4 lb or I would say more like 3 lb of trimmings, not too much but really thinned out below the canopy, the lower parts of the plants because there were some nodes and besides that were being covered up and I wanted to make sure that they were getting the maximum amount of light because you do not want those wispy buds to develop. And as you can see here we are still getting good deal bud development down below the second layer of the scrog net. So that is pretty much it for today's update, since we did a good amount of defoliation today, we are going to hold off on that for a few days.

But like I said tomorrow we will be lowering the lights again because that is just something that we are going to continuously do you until we are right on top of those buds or those main colas. So I'm also going to go ahead and get started with that watering and then I will also be sure to give you guys some closeups on the buds and their new development during that shot.  Alright Growers, I will see you back here in 24 hours for day three of the week, Peace!

OK Growers so we are now back for the third day of the week, and just going to be a pretty simple update today. First off we are going to be lowering the lights one in each, remember we have two of them going at this point so just want to keep them at a consistent height, both of them at the same distance from the plants. 4 the watering we are just going to do one of our small in between waterings. And I've got half a gallon mixed up here which we will be splitting between all four of the plants. And in that half gallon I have mixed up 1.5 teaspoons of the grape sweet by Botanicare.

Now that is also the equivalent of half a tablespoon if you have one of those. Makes it a little easier, and using this bud sweetener I can tell already it's definitely helping.  Now we are in the fourth week of flower now about three days in here, and I can already smell that grape scent really filling up the tent and really dominating the odors coming from the pistols and development.

So that is pretty much all we will be doing today, just pretty much lowering the lights and inch each and then of course doing that plane watering mixed with the grape sweetener and just wanted to give you guys a nice look at those buds and that nice shot as well. All right folks so very happy with where we are going so far in terms of Bud development and the lollipopping is holding up really well.

And that continuous defoliation that we are doing, you can see it as making sure that these plants are not too bushy but instead you can see just the outline of those buds developing and forming each day. Okay so I'm going to go ahead and do that watering and then lowering of the lights and then we will see you back here in 24 hours. Peace!

We are now back for the 4th day of week 12 here which is also week 4 of flower, and Bud development is just continuing to go on very smoothly. And we are seeing still very good progress every 24 hours! At this point, and I will show you guys some close-ups in a little bit once we do our watering. But there is a lot of trichomes building up on the sugar leaves or on the leaves that are now making them sugar leaves. So the buds are definitely getting Frosty now as well as bigger by the day.

You can really see the outlines of them starting to form and take over shape now as they become bigger and bigger in size. And I mean geez, we've got about 30 + different colas here coming up through the scrog. So there's going to be a very nice yield and I am hoping for 1.5 do 2 lb once we have dry weight. But we will see, I will definitely be doing a video once we do Harvest and dry them so you guys know what we get for the dry weight. But anyways for today's update we are going to be doing a watering this is the second plain water and since the last nutrient feeding.

Of course you got to gallons mixed up with a full tablespoon of the grape sweet by Botanicare. And we will be splitting that between all four of the plants here. Next we will be shaking the CO2 canisters of course like we do every day, and they're actually not yet ready for a refill, these ones are going for a pretty good amount of time stand strong still. So very happy about that. Anyways that is going to be pretty much it for today's update, we are not going to be lowering the light at all today or doing any defoliation.

I will probably lower it again, the lights I will lower again tomorrow but I think I am going to wait a few more days before I do any more defoliation. All right so I'm going to go ahead and get started with that watering and then I will see you guys back here in twenty-four hours for the fifth day of the week. All right peace!

Alright folks, we are back for day 5 and today is going to be a pretty mellow on as we do not have too much going on. So we are going to be lowering the lights as I was mentioning yesterday, we will be lowering them one inch of peace and we will then be doing one of our small waterings today. I have not mixed it up yet as you can see but it is going to be again 1/2 gal mixed up with half a tablespoon of the grape sweet by Botanicare. Again that is 1.5 teaspoons or half a tablespoon.

So we will also be shaking up the CO2 canisters and besides that it is pretty much it. We are going to give you guys some nice close-ups on the buds in a second here but real quick you can see they are all just stacking up really nice. So I'm not going to do any defoliating today, as it doesn't really look necessary. In fact all of these plants are thoroughly defoliated except for the back right one. And really that is just because it is the most difficult to get to as you guys can see, the way I set up my tent I have a wall it is right up against. So I can't really get that back panel like I can on this side here. But now that I have learned from that I'm going to move it over, get this dresser out of here this armoire.

And then that way I will be able to have access to both sides for the next grow. But anyways it is still pretty well defoliated just not maximize door the best that it could be. So I'm going to go ahead and do that small watering and then lowering of the lights and then I will see you guys back here in twenty-four hours for the sixth day of this week. R i p scru maximized or the best that it could be. So I'm going to go ahead and do that small watering and then lowering of the lights and then I will see you guys back here in 24 hours for the sixth day of this week. Alright, Peace Growers!

What up Growers, so we are back here for the sixth day of the week, and I can't be more ecstatic about how the plants and their buds are developing thus far. So today we are ready for a watering, this is going to be our third plane watering since the last nutrient feeding. Course we have the two gallons mixed up with the full tablespoon of the grape sweet mixed in. And then that will be split between all four of the plant. Now course we will be shaking the CO2 canisters, they are about due for a refill, probably in a few days here though. I will not be lowering the lights any today but tomorrow I will be.

But I will be doing a little bit of defoliation today, as you can see some leaves are a little bit damaged. Some are even curling at the tips just from a little bit of heat stress that we may have had earlier today. So what I'm going to do is defoliate those leaves and remove them probably going to just remove a handful of leaves from each plant. This back right plant doesn't look like it has any that are damaged. Really just looks like the front two plants and maybe a few on the back left.

Buds are getting really Frosty everyday honest I can see a noticeable change in the trichome development pretty much every 24 hours as I keep saying. And smell is off the charts it is getting more potent every day. And so yeah I'm just really really happy with how these are coming out and I can't wait to see how big and how Frosty they are once it comes time to harvest.

So get excited for that, we can already see I mean we've got dozens of main colas growing in here so it is only a matter of time before we're going to have an amazing Harvest with these ladies. So I'm going to go ahead and get that watering done as well as some of that defoliate Sheeran and then I will see you guys back here for the last day of the week in 24 hours. Peace!

Hey there growers, so we are not back here for the last day of week 12. So I actually already did the lowering of the lights coming again it was just one inch per light that I lowered them, make sure that they are nice and level and you know not too low on one end and then a little higher on the other. You can see there are still no signs of stress from the plants or the lights being lowered closer to the plants and that's why I am continuing to do so a little bit every other day. Now besides that we are going to be doing our light watering today and that is going to be a half gallon of water mixed up with half a tablespoon which is also 1.5 teaspoons of the grape sweet by Botanicare.

Now here are the trimmings from defoliation I did yesterday as well as some of from what I did today. And you can see a decent amount in there, I was really just removing any leaves that had kind of grown over any bud sites and covered them up as well as any yellowed or crispy leaves that might have formed. Besides that we are just going to be shaking up to our CO2 canisters and just making sure that temperature and humidity stay on point. Of course it is very important to keep a nice air circulation and air flow going in the tent so that is why we have multiple fans in here.

One below the canopy and then of course one above the canopy that is oscillating. If you do not have good airflow or air circulation, your air is stagnant in the tent, that can lead to mold as well as other issues and pests. Now one thing I wanted to show you with the leaves that is pretty cool is this fan leaf that we were moved here. I don't know if I'll be able to get a good shot of it off the camera but it actually at the bottom here it is glistening. Some trichomes we're starting to form on this one so it was starting to become a little bit of a Sugar Leaf, I had to remove it though because it was covering up a very important node or bud site.

So let me see if I can get another good look at that, I will give you guys a good shot of this in the upcoming video where I do the water in as well once I have two hands. But anyways you guys get the idea there, it was kind of glistening. So I am going to go ahead and feed the plants this little watering of the grape sweet, again half a gallon mixed up with half a tbsp. And then that pretty much wraps up this week's video, again it is week 12, this is the last day of the week and then I will see you guys back here for a week 13. All right peace!

Ok GreenBox Growers, so that concludes this week's video!  And again it is week 12 overall for the grow series or week 4 of flower. Now we are pretty much through the middle of the flowering phase coming up on the last few weeks here so get ready to see some extra fast Bud development as they finish up. And once that whole phase of development has completed, that is when we will do our 2-week flush of the buds. Now that is a really important process so be sure to stay tuned and watch that video because that is one of the most critical parts of the grow.

Now as we start wrapping up the grow series it is important to stay on top of maintaining ideal temperature and humidity conditions in the tent because these parts or this last part of the grow is just as important if not more important and the entire rest of this whole grow. So for the best results just be sure to keep everything ideal and as you have been already. And of course I will be back shortly with the next update in this grow series which is of course going to be the fifth week of flower or week 13 overall. So before I go I just want to thank you guys as always watching, I really hope you enjoyed this week's episode and until next time...

Happy Growing!!

SmartPhone Trichome Scope Review

SmartPhone Trichome Scope Review

Easiest Trichome Scope for Beginners!

What up Cannabis Growers, and welcome back for another lit episode of GreenBox Grown!  Now and today's video I'm going to be doing a product review, and the product I am reviewing is this wifi-enabled digital trichome scope. Now this product makes looking at your trichomes a million times easier when compared to your traditional jewelers loop or non digital trichomes go. And the reason being is because of this thing actually syncs up with your smartphone via its own app that you can download from the App Store, and what it does is allows you to record while simultaneously seeing what you're looking at with the scope. So afterwards you can we watch that video to see exactly where your trichomes are in terms of development and then of course you can play it in slo-mo so it is easier to see them then during that live feed.

So in today's video I'm going to show you guys exactly what comes with this product and its packaging and then I'm also going to do a little demonstration where I show you guys how to use the scope while demonstrating on my Gorilla Glue Autoflower plants that I am currently growing for my Stealth Grow Series. Now for those of you interested and picking up this trichome scope, I do have a link to it on Amazon and that link is also right here on your screen and I will also have it listed Down Below in the description of this video. All right so now. That you guys know what we are doing in today's video, let's get started with that overview of the supplies that come with this trichome scope in the packaging.

Okay so here we are with the packaging and all of the supplies that came with it, again I think this was around 40 or $45 for the scope. And what it came with was of course it's charging cable which is a USB cable so I just use my butt from my smartphone charger for that. And then I plug it into the wall. Now it also comes with this cool stand for if you want to position it while looking at a sample on your table or if you just want to put it like that while it's charging it's pretty nice. And then of course it comes off of there and you have the trichome scope itself.

The scope does come with a desk cover that Clips over the edge there but since we are about to use it, I have removed it already. It is just a piece of clear plastic that Clips onto the end. Now you will see that it has the power button right here and you just hold that down to turn this on and then once that light comes on that means it's powered up. This dial right here with the LED right underneath, just controls how bright the LED at the end there, that light or LED light is at the very end of the scope. So you can see like that is all the way up and then there it is off. So that is nice to have, it's a nice feature and then you also have this button right here.

Which is actually these two buttons to zoom in and zoom out, and that is for once you have synced up to the app and you've got your live feed going you can use this if you want to zoom in at a little bit of a time. Or you can use this dial for adjusting the scope so it goes from 50x to 1000 x once you have the dial all the way to the left that's fully zoomed in and then all the way to the right is zoomed out. So let me turn it off real quick so I need to get set up first before we use it. But that is pretty much everything that comes with.  The cool features that it is wifi-enabled so you can sync it up with your smart phone and just watch what you are doing through the screen of your phone. Or you can take pictures like I was saying you can take videos which is what I'll be doing here in a second.

So if you are the gorilla glue autoflowers for my grow series and this is what we will be looking at up close for their trichomes. So let me just give you guys a little look up close at the buds, they're looking really Frosty and they are about a week to two weeks away, I would say about a week and a half away from being ready for their flush. So they are getting pretty close here and looking like a nice yield for autoflowers. And I think this exhale CO2 bag has a lot to do with that. So let me get the scope setup and hooked up to the smartphone and then I will be back to show you guys those close-ups.

Alright so we have a quick look at the buds we are going to be looking at with the scope. That's the Gorilla Glue Autoflower, And these generics come from Growers Choice seeds. So let me give you guys a good little zoom in on these guys. Looking pretty good and getting close to being ready like I was saying, all right so can you to using this scope or any scope really is you need to have obviously a really Steady Hand. So what is nice as this has a nice extension from the lens so you can get that nice you can push it up against the bud decently to help stabilize it and that way you don't get all that sticky resin on the lens of the scope.

So here we go, we are actually zoomed in all the way right now on the scope so let me zoom out and start with the zoomed out shot for you guys. Okay so we can see a decent shot right there, and looking pretty milky with some clear. I'll keep zooming in, that's a nice shot for you guys, and yeah as you can see I can get it holding pretty steady if you get the fans turned off and that way there is no Breeze working against you. And then keep zooming in and we'll get a nice look, look at that!

You can see they're looking good, and yeah a little too zoomed in right there so let me Zoom back out. Yeah you can see those trichomes and the little heads on top, pretty nice. And again this will be great for obviously checking when they are ready for Harvest, these are not looking there just yet. It does look like we are looking at some trichomes on a Sugar Leaf right here. So that is why they look some Amber there. And again those mature faster than the buds so want to make sure you are looking at trichomes on the buds to determine when they are ready. Alright hold on one more quick look for you guys here.

Sugar Leaf, stem or something sticking out from an old fan leaf. Here is a pistol that we are looking up closely on, so that is like those Pistols that start off white sticking straight up and then they crow in an orange slightly. And then there are some trichomes off in the distance a little bit for you. Alright so here's a nice last look for you guys, nice and up close and then so yeah. These ones aren't fully developed on the sugar leaves here so we do have some time to go, but there is your guys demonstration with the trichome scope!

All right cannabis Growers of that concludes today's product review of this digital wifi-enabled trichome scope. And again I really like this especially when compared to the traditional jewelers loop or your standard non-digital trichome scope. Just because of how easy it is to record and then play back the video and just look at the trichomes at that point. And then you don't have to try and determine what stage of development they are at while looking at that live feed on your screen or on the scope.

Because it is going to be a little bit shaky when you first start using it until you get used to it. And then of course because you are looking at something that isn't sturdy you know on a table in front of you. As always thank you guys for watching today's video, I really hope you enjoyed it, and until next time…

Happy Growing!!!

Basic Grow Update: Checking on Trichomes

Basic Grow Update: Checking on Trichomes

Trichomes on the current Indoor/Outdoor Cannabis Grows!

What's up Cannabis Growers and welcome back for another episode of GreenBox Grown! My name is Dylan and today I will be giving you another update on our current Indoor & Outdoor Basic Cannabis Grows. What I mean by a "Basic" Grow, is we gave these plants a short vegetation time and did minimal topping and LST. This is a lot easier of a grow for a beginner, and allows for a much faster harvest time!

In this video you will see I show all of the buds on each plant, as well as how they have grown since the last video. But the most important thing covered in this episode are the trichomes and their maturity. See, the trichomes maturity level is the single most important way of telling when the buds are ready for harvest.

Trichomes have three different stages during their maturity cycle. First they are clear, and lack THC inside of them. Later, as the mature a little further, they become milky or cloudy which means they are full of THC! Next, the THC starts to break down into what is known as THC-A, and the Trichomes begin turning amber.

What growers have learned over time, is trichomes give a different high depending on what stage they are at. When all of the trichomes are milky with zero percent amber, that is when you will get the most energetic and thought provoking high! When all of the trichomes become amber, you will receive what is know as the "Couch Lock" type of high. A very strong body high that is relaxing and causes you to not want to do anything! As a grower, I have developed a preference for harvesting when the Trichomes are about 80% Milky and 20% Amber, giving what I consider the perfect mix of both highs!

Eventually as a cannabis grower, you will be able to determine what you prefer when it comes to trichome maturity on your buds.

Now that you know how to decide if your buds are ready for harvest or not, it is time to discuss "Flushing" your cannabis plants. Flushing is one of the most important steps in creating a smooth and tasteful smoke, and consists of only watering your plants with plain pH'd water for the last 2 weeks of growth. What this does is flushes out any build up of salts or minerals from nutrients in your plants. With out a clean flushing, your buds will be extremely harsh and unpleasant to taste. After a proper flushing, however, you will notice a enormous difference. In fact, a proper flush can turn poorly grown weed into top shelf, and without a flush can turn perfectly grown weed into crap!

So now the big question is, if I have to flush my plants for 2 weeks before harvesting, how do I know when to start the flush so that the trichomes are at the right maturity level once the flush is over. From what I noticed, once all trichomes are milky, they begin turning amber at about a rate of 4-5% each week. So if you wanted 10% amber trichomes, start flushing right when all the trichomes have become milky. My other word of advice, is it doesn't hurt to flush longer than 2 weeks. So if the trichomes aren't ready when the flush is finished, just keep flushing until they are ready!

In the video you will see that the cannabis plants in my greenhouse look like they could use another week of nutrients before I start the flush, so that is what I am going to give them. The indoor plants are a little further along, but to keep things easy I will give them 1 more week of nutrients as well. This way I can harvest everything at once.

That is all I have for now, but I will be back with another update on my Basic Cannabis Grows once I start harvesting them! As always, thank you for watching and HAPPY GROWING!!!

Grow Update: Almost time for Harvest!

Grow Update: Almost time for Harvest!

Checking the Trichomes to Determine if they are ready for Harvest

In this video I show you how to determine when your cannabis plants will be ready for harvest, by examining the trichomes.  It's a very easy method to do, and all you will need is a magnifying lens that has a strength of around 40-50x.

Trichomes do not start growing on the plant until the a few weeks into flower, but once they begin to show up you will want to start watching their development.  They will start off crystal clear in color, and will slowly become milky over the course of the flower period.  After they have almost all become milky, they will begin turning amber.  As the trichomes mature, the effects of that particular plants high will start to change.

Harvesting when trichomes are milky provides a cerebral and energetic high, while harvesting when amber will cause a couch lock body high.  I prefer to harvest when 70% of the trichomes are Milky and 30% are amber, as it provides the best of both highs.

In this video I cover 3 different strains, each at a different point of the flowering stage.  We cover the Girl Scout Cookies which are the youngest of the buds, then the Blue Dream with is pretty close to harvest, and finally the Super Jack which is a little past due.

Happy Growing!
