Blue Dream SCROG Grow Update: Week 7 of Flower

Check out the Latest Update on my Blue Dream Buds!

What’s up cannabis growers and welcome back for week 15 in the Screen of Green Grow Series.  We are now in the middle of the flowering stage, and by the end of this video you will notice my Blue Dream plants starting to form pretty sizable buds.  They haven’t completely taken over the branch just yet, but they are getting close.  In this video I’ll be flushing these plants out really well and will cover the nutrient feeding for the week also.  At this point you should start to notice your colas are connecting down each branch and aren’t a bunch of tiny buds.  At the end of the video I will also give you a shot of the trichomes on these plants up close so we can see how they are and where they’ve developed since we first looked.  Alright, now lets get started with day 1 of the week which will be an update on the growth of my blue dream buds.

We’re having another foggy day hear in northern California so that’s why I’ve got the lights on during the day providing some extra light.  You should be able to notice a huge difference in the size of these buds since the last video as the are larger and much more frosty on top.  The smell is also extremely potent at this point and is noticeable from outside of the grow tent since I am not using a carbon filter.  You can see all of the white hairs have curled in and the buds are focusing on fattening up below the tops.

This is the next day, and I will be doing a sledgehammer flush just to clean out the soil before the next nutrient feeding.  This helps prevent a build up of nutrients in the soil as well as any issues that would cause.  You should mix 2 tsp per gallon of water and half a tsp of coco wet per gallon, and then pH as usual.  Now you are ready to flush your plants.  Really flush them out good by providing enough water to get 15-20% runoff out of the bottom.  At this point I am providing almost a gallon of mix per plant to get the right amount of runoff.

You can see the SCROG has done a nice job of keeping the branches at equal height even after I stopped training them.  It is also easier to see how big the buds have become when looking at them from this side view.  From an aerial view you can see they are getting extremely dense with trichomes and the hairs have curled down towards the bud.  Here’s a closeup of the tallest branch in the tent, and you can see there are still individual buds growing down the trunk that have yet to connect.  That is ok because this is a taller branch so it needs more time to grow.  You can see for the most part all of the buds are right at the same stage of growth and are all growing equal in size which is great.  There are no stragglers either or branches that fall outside of the grow lights footprint so that is another plus!

The plants are ready for their next watering and it’s time to feed them their nutrients for the week.  I am doing the week 11 mix on the fox farm dirty dozen feeding chart and then I add half a tsp of coco wet and 1 tsp of cal mag per gallon of water.  Once everything has been stirred I pH to 5.8 and water the plants.  Now you can see how big these buds are getting and that means they need more water to get even bigger.  I’m going to be feeding each plant close to an entire gallon as this thorough watering will really make a difference with increasing the size of the buds.

Another day later and here is a shot of the plants without the lights on.  It’s harder to see the buds as the leaves cover them up more easily in this lighting, but when you get up close it’s easier to see how frosty and dense with trichomes they have become.  Underneath, there isn’t any vegetative growth going on that needs to be trimmed away and all of the branches look nice and healthy so I’ll leave this area alone.

This is one of the last days of the week and the plants are ready for a plain pHd watering.  These waterings are always easy as all you have to do is pH the water and then you’re ready to go.  This shot is from earlier in the grow, but with where my plants are actually at, I am providing each plant with a full gallon of water.  Don’t feed the entire gallon all at once though, you want to let it soak in a quarter gallon at a time so the plant gets more use from it.

Here’s the shot of the trichomes up close and you can see they are no longer clear for the most part.  Instead they have become milky in color which means they are closer to being ready for harvest!  Once about 10% of the trichomes have turned amber, you will be ready to start your flush.  But I will give you more details on that once it is time for that step.  Right now you should just look and see what the trichomes on here look like so you can start to tell the difference between clear and cloudy.  It can be difficult to tell at first.

This is the last day of the week and you can see the white pistils are actually starting to turn orange which is another sign of maturity.  Eventually all of the hairs will be orange and curled inwards, and that will be right around the time these are ready for harvest usually.  Right now, temperature is a little low in this grow room as it should be closer to 75 degrees Fahrenheit.  I’ll just turn up the heater in here and that will help fix that issue.  While a few degrees may seem like not a big difference, when it comes to growing cannabis it can make the worlds a difference so always monitor temperature and humidity in your grow room.  Underneath the SCROG everything is still nice and healthy so no need to do anything down here, but it is always good to keep an eye on this part of your plants.  If an issue does arise, you want to catch it as early on as possible to prevent any severe damage.

Alright folks, that concludes week 15 of the Screen of Green Grow series by GreenBox Grown, and that was also week 7 of flower.  There are only a few more weeks to go in this grow series but there is still a lot more bud growth that will happen before harvest and I will be back with more of that in next weeks video.  If you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up and comment below with your feedback.  Also don’t forget to subscribe to the GreenBox Grown channel and to turn on notifications for updates on my latest grows.  As always, thank you for watching and until next time…

Grow Update: Week 4 of Flower for the Blue Dream Screen of Green Grow

Latest Buds development of the Blue Dream Plants

What’s up Cannabis Growers, my name is Dylan and welcome back to the Screen of Green Grow series by GreenBox Grown.  This video will be another basic one like last weeks and will be covering week 12 of the grow, which is also week 4 of flower.  During this week i will cover the watering schedule which will include a flushing of the plants as well as a nutrient feeding.  You will also get to see the plants develop trichomes and more of the white pistils that look like hairs growing on the tops!  Remember to visit greenboxgrown.com to jump ahead in this grow series, and now lets get started with day 1 of the week which covers the new bud growth since you last saw the plants.

Here we are for day 1 of week 12 and you can see from this angle the tops are getting even taller through the Screen and there are more of them.  Also, when I get up close you can see there are more pistils growing and they are white in color instead of yellow like before.  all of the tops are developing really well because they are all getting an equal amount of sunlight thanks to the SCROG Screen.

This is day 2 of the week and as you can see on the Fox Farm nutrient schedule, my plants are due for a sledgehammer flush.  This helps prevent any build up over the course of the grow and makes things easier come time for the final flush.  All you need to do is mix 2 teaspoons of the sledge hammer mix per gallon of water, and your coco wet and then pH to 5.8 and you’re good to go.  Of course if you are in soil instead of coco coir, remember no coco wet is necessary and you need to use a pH of 6.3.  I also am going to give each of these plants half a gallon of this mix so I can really flush the soil out.

This is another day later and I want to show you how much the pistils have developed since day 1 of this week.  You can see there are a lot more of them and they are growing almost into the shape of a ball.  If you put your nose up close to the buds at this point you can start to get a good hint of their scent and what they will smell like later on.

Another day later and the blue dream plants are ready for another watering, so I will be feeding them the week 8 nutrient mix from the fox farm feeding schedule.  Remember I am no longer misting the plants, so no foliar spray is needed.  I am still adding my tsp of cal mag and half tsp of coco wet per gallon of water and then I pH to 5.8.  At this point I am giving each plant almost half a gallon each as they are pretty big and need a lot!

This is another update on how the tops are doing and you can see the buds are getting bigger in size each day.  Up top they are all developing really well and underneath the scrog, everything looks good and healthy and there isn’t any foliage growth going on.

Day 6 of the week and the plants are ready for their pH watering.  This is a previous clip just for demonstration, but at this point in the week is when my plants were ready for a plain pH watering.  Again, I am giving each plant just under half a gallon of water as that is what it takes to completely feed them at this point.

This is the final day of the week and will just be covering the new growth of the buds.  They have already developed noticeable more since I showed you in the clip from 2 days ago and the smell is really starting to take off.  Underneath the branches are strong and are providing plenty of support to the tops above.  They are also keeping vegetative growth down below to a minimum as they are focusing all of the energy up top on the buds!

That concludes week 12 of the Screen of green grow series, but I will be back shortly with week 13 where you will see these blue dream plants develop frosty sugar leaves and even larger buds.  Until then, if you enjoyed the video please give it a thumbs up and comment below with your feedback.  Also feel free to subscribe to the GreenBox Grown channel and turn on the notifications for updates on my latest grows.  As always, thank you for watching and until next time…

Week 3 of Flower for the Screen of Green Grow Series is now Live!

Week 3 of Flower for the SCROG Grow (Week 11 Overall)

What’s up Cannabis Growers, my name is Dylan and welcome back for week 11 of the Screen of Green Grow Series by GreenBox Grown.  This week will be a very basic one as I will no longer be training branches through the SCROG squares and will just allow them to grow freely on their own from now on.  I will also be covering the watering and nutrient schedule for the week, and will also show you how to clean up new growth from the areas that were lollipopped.    By the end of this week my blue dream plants will have a decent amount of those white hairs growing around the tops, and by next week you will really start to see some significant bud growth.

Remember to visit the full SCROG series under the videos tab on greenboxgrown.com to jump ahead in this grow series, and now lets get started with day one of this week which will be the next nutrient watering.

Alright, so here we are for day 1 of the week and before I do the watering I want to show you guys how the plants have grown since you last saw them.  You can see right now the leaves look really droopy like they are hanging down, and that is because I am a little behind on my watering schedule and they are thirsty!  up close you can see the tops have a few pistils growing and they are starting to give off a little bit of a smell.

Now time for the nutrient feeding, and I will be using the week 7 mix from the fox farm dirty dozen feeding schedule.  I am no longer misting the plants, so I will skip the foliar spray, but I am still adding Cal Mag and Coco Wet to my mixtures.  Once everything has been added and stirred, pH to the appropriate levels for your growing medium and then you are ready to water.  While I am not showing the full watering, I am actually giving each plant almost half a gallon each as it is important to really feed your plants properly during flower.

Lets take a quick look underneath the SCROG to see how much has grown back since the plants were lollipopped.  As you can see there isn’t a lot, but there are some little buds and leaves here and there so what I’m going to do is just trim them all off with a pair of fiskar trimmers.  The reason for this is to prevent the plant from wasting any energy on the tiny buds down here, as that can take away from the big colas up top.  Remember to throw away everything you trim off and to not leave it in the soil as that can cause issues later on.

Alright now we are a few days later in the grow and you can see there has been a lot of progress in terms of bud growth on these tops.  The bud sites have a lot more of those hairs growing and their bigger than before!

Another day later and the plants are ready for another watering, so this time I will give them a plain pHd feeding.  Again I am using about half a gallon per plant, so there is about 20% runoff coming out of the bottom.  Not only does this help with bud growth but it also helps flush out the soil so there isn’t a build up of salts or nutrients.  Be sure to evenly water all of the soil and to not just concentrate in one area.

This is the final day of week 11 and I want to show you how the bud sites have progressed even further since the last shot I showed you.  Not only are the pistils becoming more and more prominent, but they are starting to form at all of the bud sites going down each branch!  This is good as it is a sign that the buds are going to be big and will fill out nicely.  At this point you will also start to notice the smell getting stronger as you put your nose up to the bud sites, and they should also start showing signs of trichome development.  Right now it will just look like sparkles on the leaves, but pretty soon they will be milky trichomes!

Alright folks that concludes week 11 of this Blue Dream Screen of Green Grow Series.  This was also week 3 of flower which means I will be back with week 4 of flower shortly.  In that video I will continue to cover the bud development of each plant, and we should start to see a lot more  of those trichomes forming at the bud sites.  Until then, please give this video a thumbs up and comment below with your feedback!  Also feel free to subscribe too the GreenBox Grown channel and be sure to turn on the notifications for updates on my latest grows.  As always, thank you for watching and until next time…

Happy Growing!
