How to Press Dry Sift Rosin

Pressing Dry Sift Rosin with my Rosineer Manual Press

What's up Cannabis Growers, My name is Dylan and welcome back for another episode of GreenBox Grown! Today I am excited to show you guys how to press your homemade dry sift into rosin! This will be done by using Rosin Evolution 25 Micron Filter Bags, and I will also be Pressing Flower using the 90 Micron Filter Bags by Rosin Evolution as well. This will all be done using my Manual Rosineer Rosin Press, so lets go check that out.

Ok so with Pressing Dry Sift Rosin at home, you're going to only need 4 things. First your rosin press, which as I stated will be the Manual Rosineer version 1. Then you will need your dry sift of course, which I will be using some Coco Monkey Balls Dry Sift I made with a pollen box.

Next you'll need filter bags, and when it comes to pressing a fine material like Dry Sift Hash, you want to use a very fine filter bag. So that I why I recommend the 25 micron bags. Finally you will need parchment paper for pressing the rosin onto of course!

Once you have all your supplies together you are ready to prep the dry sift for pressing. Before doing this however, I like to get the Rosin Press turned on so it can warm up while I prep. I will be setting the press to 105 degress C for these presses as that has worked best for me.

Before putting your product into the filter bag, you're going to want to turn it inside out. This helps with preventing blow outs as the seam is facing outward not in. Now you can put your dry sift hash into the filter bag. I will be doing 1.76 grams today, was trying to do 2gs but didn't make enough for this run.

I find with this rosineer press I get the best results when doing 2 gram runs. Alright so you've weighed out the dry sift, now pour it into the filter bag and back it towards the bottom as best you can. Once you have done that, cut the excess of the filter bag off the top so you leave an inch of excess.

Now you will want to fold that flap over the top of the bag, and sort of press on it so the bag flattens out. You want to keep the flap folded over and on top when pressing as that will also help prevent blowouts. Once this is done, put your filter bag into the parchment paper and press.

I like to pull the lever down slowly so it can warm the dry sift up before it really squishes it. Press for 30-45 seconds and then lift the lever. You will see in the video we got some amazing results with this run, and after testing it out personally I can truly attest to that. After pressing, let the rosin cool of for a little before using. It will be more stable that way. You can also do another 30 second squish on that bag to get the rest of the rosin out of there. It will not be much more, but in my opinion it is still worth the it.

Ok now lets use a filter bag with bud to press some rosin. The supplies you will need are exactly the same, and instead of the Coco Monkey Balls I will be pressing some Double Tangie Banana Flower. So I have my 90 micron filter bag, and my 3 grams weighed out. I usually do 2gs per run, but I want to do a little extra this time around.

Remember to turn the bag inside out first, then take all the bud and pack it in and towards the bottom as best as possible. Make sure it is filling up all the space and there isn't any air pockets that can cause a blowout. Once compacted, cut off so there is only an inch left and fold over for pressing. You can now press. You will see in the video a lot of the rosin got stuck in the bag because I didn't properly pack everything, but I think I'll just be sticking to filter bags for pressing dry sift from now on. And will only press flower with out the filter bag.

Alright folks, that is all you need to know about press dry sift hash into rosin at home using a filter bag! As always, thank you for watching and until next time...

HAPPY GROWING!!!

How to make Dry Sift Hash from Trim!

Make Full Melt Dry Sift Hash from Trim & Bud!!!

What's up Cannabis Growers, my name is Dylan and welcome back for another Episode of GreenBox Grown! Today I will be showing you guys how to make some Dry Sift Hash at home, using trim. I will then show you how to make Dry Sift using ground up bud as well! The Hash we will be making today is going to be full melt so you can dab it, and I will be using my Pollen Box made by Green Goddess Supply! This product is available on our website and you can find it by visiting the "Starter Kits & Supplies" tab and then clicking "Extracts".

So what I really like about Making Dry Sift Hash is it is a great way to put my trim to good use! I can also take all the buds that didn't turn out so great and can make Dry Sift out of them so they don't go to waste! It's really just a great way to maximize the usage of your crop and harvest so there is no waste. Ok, so the first thing you're going to want to do is get the herb you will be shaking, and put about a handful to a handful and a half into the top portion of the box.

When it comes to trim I like to put a little more in, and with bud be sure to grind it before putting into the box. Don't over stuff as you want there to be enough room for everything to move around. Another important thing to do is add 2 quarters into the top compartment of your shaker box where the herb goes. This will help maximize yields as the quarters will knock trichomes off the buds and push them through the screens. Now that you have your pollen box loaded up, it's time to shake! Be sure to shake it back and forth, side to side, but not up and down. This can cause the Dry Sift Hash to fly out of the bottom compartment.

Do this for about 10 minutes, and then check your yields. I have found 10 minutes to be the best amount of time for one run, and then I will take that trim out and put it into a separate bag for all trim that has already been run through once. After the first shake, your trim or bud can go through the box 2 more times before they are completely finished. I recommend doing 5 minute shakes for the second and third run however, or else you'll get too much contaminants into the hash. Now lets check the bottom compartment where the Dry Sift Hash has been collected. You can see there is a very good amount in there, and after scraping it together with a business card, you can really see we got some great yields!

Now this hash is ready for use if you want to sprinkle some on top of your bowls, or you can use a kief press to press it into hash pucks. What I'll be doing later is pressing this hash into Dry Sift Rosin, so be sure to stay tuned for that video to be released! Now lets try to make Dry Sift Hash using Bud. Now the process will be exactly the same for bud as it was with trim, except for 2 things. One, you will want to grind up the bud you are using before hand, and two you will put a lot less in the box at a time compared to the trim. I like to start with a grinder full of bud at a time, and I shake it for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, you can see the yields from this little bit of bud are even better than from all of that trim I used at the beginning of the video. That's simply because bud is a lot more potent and dense with trichomes, so naturally it's going to provide a better yield. Now I'll scrap all the Dry Sift Hash together and will pour it into my storage container. With the bud that's already been shaken, I put that in a separate bag than the trim. Reason for this is I want to keep them separate for when I shake the bud a second and third times, so the quality stays the same. For bud I recommend doing 5 minute shakes for the second and third runs.

There you have everything you need to know about how to make Dry Sift Hash with Trim & Bud at home! Remember this is a Full Melt Hash and is still really high quality, even though it came from trim!
