Week 10 Overall for the OG Kush SCROG Grow
What up GreenBox Growers, and welcome back for the second week of flower to the OG Kush Screen of Green Grow series! Now this is also week 10 overall for the entire grow series, and right now the plants are looking absolutely fantastic. So for the rest of the flower phase it is going to be pretty simple and that we are really just going to be maintaining a proper temperature and humidity range for the grow room. And then besides that we really just want to make sure that we are giving the right watering and nutrients feeding schedule.
Finally we are also going to be slowly lowering the LED lights towards the plants over this. And what that is going to do is help with intensifying the lights which will help grow larger denser buds. So for this week's video we are just going to be maintaining those conditions, working on the nutrient and watering schedule and then also probably a week from now we will be doing another defoliation on the plants. So now that you know what we are doing in this week's video, let's get started with day one!
Here we are for the first day of the week and it is just going to be a really quick update as there isn't really too much to do. You can see the plants are looking really healthy and happy, the way the leaves are all kind of pointing up towards the light, that shows that they are really in good shape and that is what your plan should look like when they are healthy and perky. So we can see there is a little bit more pistol development going on at the maintop there, probably by the end of this week it is going to be a lot further along just kind of a slow transition in the beginning. But I can definitely tell it is starting to pick up just from a quick glance at the overall canopy.
Now course we are going to be shaking up the CO2 canisters and I am not going to be lowering the lights yet today but probably in another two days we will be lowering them a few inches. Other than that I am just going to be doing a small watering of plain water today. Probably about a spray bottle and a half split between all four of these plants. And then finally like I was telling you guys, we are probably going to be doing a defoliation on here, one of the two defoliations we are going to be doing during the flowering phase. And that is probably going to be another six to seven days from now. Okay so that concludes the day one update 4-week kind of this grow series, and I will see you guys back here in 24 hours!
What up Growers, we are back here another day later and the plants are really starting to take off in terms of their flower growth. You can see this guy right here is probably one of the furthest ahead but you can see its pistol are really starting to come out there. So probably in another week's time these guys, these plans aren't even going to be recognizable because they will have so much development on them. So at this point we are going to be giving them a watering and they are ready for the next watering today.
And that is going to be their second plane watering since the last nutrient feeding, and we are splitting 2 gallons between all four of these plants as usual. You can see the stems in the stocks have really thick and up over the course of this grow. Getting some really sturdy growth going on down below. And that is really important because you need that in order to support those big dense buds up top. So really happy on that And you can see that lollipopping that we did about two weeks ago or a week and a half ago sorry, still really holding up nicely.
There isn't really any growth that has come back yet, so we will do some Maintenance trimming throughout this grow or throughout the flowering phase. sit beside that watering, just going to be shaking the CO2 canisters today, actually already have done that. And just a reminder it is important to do the CO2 shaking early in the day or early on in the light cycle.
Because that is when the plants use the CO2 is when the lights are on. Besides that I am probably going to finish up the second week of flower before I start lowering the lights any further, that is what I decided to do for my plan of action. And the same thing with the defoliation, I am going to wait until week 3 of flower and then that is when we will do our first defoliation of the flowering phase. So that is pretty much it for today's update, I'm going to go ahead and get that watering done for you guys and then we will see you guys back here in 24 hours for day 3 of the week!
All right folks it is now day 3 of week 10, and not too much to do today we are just going to be giving the light watering of plain water. You know the in between of one spray bottle split between all four of the plants. And that is just to tide them over between the big waterings. Of course we will be shaking up the TNB Naturals CO2 canisters and we will be keeping the lights at the same height for now. But probably in a couple of days we will start lowering them just an inch at a time. Reason we do that is it helps get the light intensity up For the plants which will in turn allow them how to grow bigger denser buds.
But the reason we lower it so slowly is so we don't increase the intensity too quick because that can burn and shock the plants. So you can see we are definitely in the flowering phase now, the pistols are noticeably bigger by the day come in each day I come out here you can see they are getting Fuller and Fuller. They're probably in another week's time we are going to have some decent buds going or at least a nice clusters of pistols at all of the bud sites. it is really nice with this double scrog layer, may we probably have at least 50 different tops in here, main tops, so we are going to have a lot of colas packing in this SCROG Net.
And it is hard to imagine now but we are going to be removing more and more fully adjust we go so that is what is going to make room for those buds. Below the canopy I just want to show you guys how nice it is looking, the lollipopping is holding up really well on all four of the plants. And the deflation is allowing enough light to get down here so that even these lower tops are getting enough light to develop some buds. And also it is going to help and we do that next defoliation this coming week because it is going to allow those lower Bud sites to get even more light power. Which again will give us bigger and denser buds!
Alright guys so that is pretty much it for today's update so what we are going to do now is go ahead and oh, I'm going to give you guys some close-ups on the tops so you can see that early flower development. And then yeah those pretty much it, don't forget to shake up the CO2 canisters if you are using them and then I will see you guys back here in 24 hours. Piece!
Alright Growers, we are back here for the fourth day of the week, and the soil is actually really dry today so we are going to be doing our next watering. This will be our third playing watering since the last nutrient feeding and we are going to be splitting two gallons between all four of the plants. Now that means our next watering is going to be a nutrient feeding and that will be the second mix or the second time we are doing nutrient since we started the flowering phase.
So course we will be using the flowering nutrients and right here I just want to show you guys how our lollipopping has held that and how nicely we have thinned out the canopy so that there is enough space for light as well as for a breeze to pass through there in between all of those buds that are already developing. So in a couple weeks here this is just going to be solid nug all the way up and down here, but more on that as we get closer. So besides that we are going to be shaking the tnb natural CO2 canisters of course every day.
And then tomorrow actually we are going to be lowering these lights one inch each. So these plants are actually ready for the lights to start getting a little closer to them. So I am going to start tomorrow like I said one in for the lights lower or closer to the plants, and then after that it will probably be every two or three days we will lower then another inch. Here are some good looks at the pistols up close at the front and just a reminder as I have shown you guys busy on the buds developing, temperature range right now should be between 73 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit somewhere around there during the day.
At night it can be a little cooler and the 68 to 69 degrees Fahrenheit range is just fine. Bring humidity or RH you want to be right around 50 to 55% during flower. Much lower or any higher and you are going to cause issues such as bud rot or mold. And that is for of course higher humidity during the flowering phase, if it is too dry and you are just going to have airy buds that don't fully develop. Okay so I pretty much concludes today's update, again it is the fourth day of the week and I am very stoked on how quickly this flower growth and early Bud development is transitioning. So I'm going to go ahead and do that third plant watering now and then we will see you guys back here at tomorrow in 24 hours for the fifth day of the week.
We are now back here for day 5 of the week and I actually went ahead and decided to do a little cleanup on the foliage today for all of the ladies. So as you can see we actually removed some of the fan leaves but we are actually just focusing on damaged and any old yellowed leaves. Anything that looked dead and crispy or was early on in the dying phase. So we removed all of those leaves, plants are looking really good and so is the flower development. For today we are just going to be shaking up the T & B natural CO2 canisters and we will actually be lowering the lights one in a piece. So each light is going to be one in lower or an inch closer to the tops of the plant.
And then I am also going to split a spray bottle between all four of the plants of just plain water. So we will be splitting that, just because what is going on at this point is we are ready to water basically every day. But on the off days what we are doing these smaller waterings, I'm doing the smaller watering because or the smaller amount of water because they don't really need the full watering. But if I skip this little bit of water in, they will be to dry by tomorrow by the time I am ready to give them their next watering. So this is just a little watering to kind of Tide them over until that next larger watering. All right so again shaking up the CO2 canisters, lowering the light and image or each of the lights 1 inch. We did some defoliation on the dying leaves today, and we are going to split that single water bottle of plain water between all four plants. All right guys so we are going to go ahead and get that taken care of and that I will see you back here in twenty-four hours for day 6 of the week. All right peace!
What up Growers, and welcome back for day 6 of the week. As you can see the plants are ready for their next nutrient feeding today, but before I get into what we are mixing up I just want to give you guys a quick look over the plants so you can see how well they are doing. The plants are reacting really well to that lowering of the lights we did yesterday, again it was just one inch so nothing too major but we are going to start doing that more frequently as they get adjusted to the lights faster. This one or the next lowering will probably be in two to three more days oh, I just want to make sure that the plants are okay with this distance.
Also don't forget to shake up your CO2 canisters of course, we are getting pretty close here to being ready to remix them. Probably tomorrow is when I will be adding those refill packets to the containers. Now yesterday we also did a little bit of defoliation, just removing any leaves that looked damaged or were yellowing. And that's just going to be a theme throughout the entire flowering phase is as you start to see leaves damage or starting to die off, you should just remove them one by one. I believe I have mentioned this before throughout the groceries but I just wanted to remind you guys that if you do notice leaves kind of disappearing throughout this series, will that is why.
The reason for this is you do not want to do too much of a defoliation at one time with the plants during flower because it does add some Shock and any shock during the flowering phase is no good because that is kind of going to take away from your yields. And it is also going to lower the bud quality overall. So they leave here and there is much better than a bunch at one time or I'm sorry I leave here and there over the entire course of the grow or flowering phase is much better than let's say just one major defoliation over the course of the day for that whole period.
Again today we are doing the nutrients feeding, let's show you the mix, so it is the week 6 mix from the fox farm Dirty Dozen or the second mix of the flowering phase. And of course we are doing that at full strength. We got to gallons of water mixed up here so we had to up the amount of nutrients when you gave to the appropriate levels. We are also doing 1.5 teaspoons of Cal Mag per gallon of water here just because we did have a little bit of that Cal Mag deficiency going on there earlier in the grow. And then of course now that we are in flower we are adding the grape sweet from Botanicare each nutrient feeding. And I am actually doing the grape sweet at 1.5 teaspoons per gallon of water as well. For a total of 3 teaspoons in this mix because of course we have the two gallons.
Alright guys I will be splitting these two gallons between all four of these plants now, and I will give you guys a quick clip of that, and then I will see you guys back here in 24 hours for the last day of the week!
Alright Growers I would just now the last day of week 10 here and the plants are continuing to Bud out really well. So first thing for today, I actually just finished refilling the CO2 canisters, so each of them got a new refill packet added in and then we just added in one liter of lukewarm water. Shook them up, rehung them and now we are back to normal with the CO2. Besides that just wanted to show you guys the new growth that we have with the buzz, you can see it is developing a little bit each day here, and that last lowering of the light seems to be working just fine.
So in a few days here, probably the day after tomorrow I will lower the lights another inch and today we are also going to be doing one of our mini plain waterings, just one spray bottle split between all four of the plants. So again this is the last day of week 10 which also means that concludes the second week of flower, and I am very happy this far with how much development we are getting with the bud sites for only being 2 weeks into flower. You can see not only are they developing at the very tops but there is good development going on down here at the lower parts of the canopy and even below the scrog.
So starting tomorrow I will probably do a little more defoliation just to clear out the middle canopy area. Just to make sure enough light is getting all the way through, there is a decent amount of light getting through there right now but there can definitely be a lot more so probably tomorrow is when I will do that next defoliation. I will give you guys of course more details on that once it is time. All right so I'm going to go ahead and give them that mini watering and then I will see you guys back here in 24 hours for the start of week 11!
Ok GreenBox Growers, So that officially wraps up week 10 overall for the OG Kush Screen of Green Grow series. Now that again that also concludes week 2 of flower which means we are about a third of the way through the flowering phase. So things are going to start developing and changing really quickly over the next few weeks here and we are going to continue with more defoliation and lowering of those lights to help with increasing yields and Bud development. As always I want to thank you guys for watching this week's episode, I really hope you enjoyed it, and until next time
