SCROG Net Completely Full + Almost Flower!
What is up GreenBox Growers and welcome back for the week 7 of vegetation video for the OG Kush Screen of Green Grow series! Now the plants are really doing well in terms of vegetative growth and they are almost completely filled out the scrog net. So what I am thinking is including this week, we are probably just going to do two more weeks of vegetation before flipping to flower. So that means we will do this week and then week 8 of vegetation and then we will flip to flower.
Now I am waiting about a day or two before we flip to flower to add that second layer of the scrog net as well as to do the next defoliation in the series as well as a lollipopping to each of the plants. Now this week is going to be another simple one in that we will just be doing the normal LST training with the scrog net, and our normal vegetative nutrient feeding. So now that you know what we are doing in this week's video, let's get started with the first day!
All right Growers, so here we are for the first day of the week and first off just a reminder we are shaking up those CO2 canisters everyday if you are using them. Now you will notice I removed the fan that was over here and I brought it down below so that I could get some good air circulation going on below the canopy. The reason for that is it is going to help prevent issues like mold as well as pests from getting attracted to down there because there is no air flow once this thick canopy covers that area up. So up top here will still be good because we still have this oscillating fan right here and the carbon filter is going so that will give us plenty of air movement up top above the canopy.
Now the plants are ready for their next watering so that is going to be their third plane watering since the last nutrient feeding, and they actually stoked up that last watering really quickly so I am going to bump up the amount of water we are giving to the plants to two gallons and 1/4 split between all four of the plants. Now that, the fact that they dried up really quickly like that is a sign that you want to increase it but you only want to increase it a little bit at a time. So again this is the third playing watering today and then the next watering will be a nutrient feed. Now I am going to do some low stress training today but it is going to be a little different and that I am just going to be bending the big main tops that are taller than the rest.
And the reason being is that allow for the shorter ones to catch up and get to the same height as those ones. So just a little bit of low stress training, and before I go ahead and do that watering and low stress training I want to show you guys. There is some rust colored looking spots showing up on some of the fan leaves, what that is is a sign of a Cal Mag deficiency, as well as that I am misting too often.
So what we are going to do is increase the amount of cal-mag that we mix in with our nutrient feeding to 1.5 teaspoons per gallon of water instead of just one tsp. And then what I'm going to do is I'm just going to cut back to one, maybe two mistings per day max. But I will only be doing to mistings on Saturdays, so most days it will be just one misting per day. So that is pretty much it for today's update, remember to keep temperature around 75 degrees Fahrenheit, range around 73F-78F is okay. And then relative humidity you want to be at around 55% to 65% but in veg it is better to be closer to the 60% to 65% range. So now I'm going to go ahead and do that low stress training on the main tops and then I will feed them they're playing watering. All right I will see you guys back here after that tomorrow for day two of the week!
We are now back here for day two of the week, and as you can see the plants are responding really well to that low stress training, so what I'm going to do today is actually give them a little bit of rest. That is always a good idea, you do not want to overtrain them because eventually that will overstress them.
Which leads to slower growth no, so no low stress training today just going to let them continue growing up through the scrog net and then tomorrow we will probably train them a little bit more. So what I will be doing however today is just giving them that one misting as well as shaking up the CO2 canisters and then that is really up for today's update. So let's go ahead and get that missing done and then I will see you guys back here in twenty-four hours for day 3 of week 7. All right Peace!!!
All right grammar so we are back here four days three of the week and I actually got him a lot later than expected today so as you can see, the plants are under watered and a little droopy well actually very droopy from it. So I was going to get home earlier today and I was going to water them but it looks like I'm about 5 to 8 hours too late and that is why they look underwater. So today we are going to be doing their next nutrient feeding and this actually since it's only the second time this has happened, this is not going to be in and she like I said if it kept happening then it would cause issues with the plants.
But I'm going to make sure that this does not happen again for this grow. So we are going to be doing the nutrients feeding today and what that will be is the week four mix from vegetation on the fox farm feeding schedule. I sense we are doing an extended. Of Education that's why we are repeating week for because it is the last week of veg for the feeding schedule. So we are going to be doing it at full strength like I said and we are going to be doing probably about 2 and 1/4 or between 2 and 1/4 and 2 and 1/2 gallons of water.
That's what seems like it's working for them right now, and we are going to mix that up and then I'm going to do a misting and then of course don't forget to shake up a CO2 canisters. Now I will be holding off on the LST for today just because they are under watered and don't need to add any more stress to them at this moment. So we are going to go ahead and get those nutrients mixed up and the plants watered, and then we will be back here in twenty-four hours for day 4 of the week. All right peace Growers!
Alright so we are still actually here for day 3 of the week and I just wanted to let you guys know that we did bump up the amount of cal-mag that we mixed with the nutrients, so I went up to 1 and 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. So a total of 3 teaspoons because we did two gallons here. The reason being is like I was showing you guys earlier in the week we were having those issues with some Cal Mag deficiency or signs of Cal Mag deficiency showing up on some of the leaves. So that is why I bumped it up there, just wanted to let you guys know that and then I will see you guys back here for a day for of the week.
What up Growers and welcome back for day 4 of week 7! Now today is going to be a pretty basic update as we are just going to be doing a light misting as well as some low stress training on the tops that I popped up through the scrog net. But before we get to that, of course we want to do a shake of the CO2 canisters if you are using them and then also I just wanted to show you guys how the plants are looking much better, and a lot perkier as well after that nutrient feeding from yesterday. Now as I said yesterday, we did bump up the Cal Mag dosage because of the Cal Mag deficiency that was showing on the plants such as right here you can see they look like those Rusty spots almost that start on the center fingers of the fan leaves.
So we bump that up yesterday and that should help, and then I also removed most of the leaves that were showing signs of the Cal Mag deficiency just so the plants would look a lot better. Removing them isn't going to really help much at this point but I figured since they are damaged you might as well do a little minor defoliation with those leaves. So you can see they are looking much better Under The Canopy things are going well, and as I was saying we are probably going to finish this week out and then one more week of vegetation and that is when we will be flipping them to flower.
So that will be coming up really quickly here and then at that point we will be stripping all of these leaves from underneath the canopy just defend things out for the bud growth. And we will also be doing a little defoliation up top here as well as adding that second layer to the scrog net. So that is pretty much it for today's update, I'm going to go ahead and do that misting as well as the low stress training and then I will see you guys back here in 24 hours for day 5 of the week!
Okay Growers we are now back here for day 5 of the week, and the ladies look like they are reacting really well to that low stress training from yesterday. Today is such a day we are going to hold off on the low stress training and just give them a little time to rest and grow upwards. But we will be giving them a watering today as the soil is pretty dry. Now I am going to be splitting 2 and 1/2 gallons or just under 2 and 1/2 gallons because it looks like they are still drying up really quickly even with that 2 and 1/4 gallons. So does just going to be a plane watering and this is the first plane watering since that last nutrients feeding.
Now besides that I am just going to be giving them a misting as well as shaking the CO2 canisters of course. And then that is pretty much it, so let's go ahead and do that misting and watering and then I will see you guys back here for the next day of the week. Okay so actually before we get started with the watering and misting there are two things I want to share with you guys. So first off now that we are increasing the amount of water to a good level, you are going to be getting an exceptional amount of runoff out of your pots, especially if you are using these or smart pots just because they have so many holes along the sides.
Now it is important that immediately after you are done watering, you vacuum up or somehow soak up with towels that water that has runoff because you don't want you are plants sitting in puddles of water for too long. And really after a couple hours that is too long. So what will happen is if they are sitting in the water, first off the water is really going to raise the humidity to an overly high level. And then not only is that bad for the plants but then eventually it is going to start attracting pests to the grow room. Next having that puddle down there is going to cause the soil to keep soaking it back up so that it stays too wet or over wet, and that will eventually causes root rot and slow growth with your plants.
So very important to get that moisture up and out of the tent right away. Second thing I wanted to share with you guys as I am going to be lowering the lights pretty quickly here, probably in another day or two, reason being is once the plants are used to the strength and distance of the light, lowering it will help them grow faster as well as give them more power to grow bushier.
Or once in flower it will help them grow larger bud, so we wants us lowly work the light down just an inch or two at a time. I will get more details on that once it is time to start lowering I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. All right so that's pretty much it for today's update and now we are ready to start that first plane watering as well as our misting!
Okay it is now day 6 of the week here for the OG Kush plants and I actually went ahead last night and decided I was going to turn off the second Electric Sky led. The reason being as I noticed it was a little too much power for the plants, they were starting to show signs of light stress in the way you can tell that is by the yellowing of the leaves, as well as the drooping of the tops and the top leaves, closest towards the light. You can see their kind of Droopy. So after turning off the second LED, that a few hours before lights off last night I could already tell today the plants were Greener, the leaves were all perked up a lot more and they just look a lot healthier overall.
So I'm still getting used to using these Electric Sky LEDs, they are very powerful and obviously work really well but it is only my second for a with them but anyways. What my plan is is to keep that one light on for now and then I will turn the second one on during flower. But after about four more days of just having the one light back on and they are a little healthier looking, I will start lowering that one a couple inches at a time just so they can get used to the more intensity.
And then like I was saying once we flipped onto flower then they should be ready for the second LED. But anyways plants are looking good soil is still pretty moist so no need to water today, I will be doing that one misting and then besides that, no LST I just want to let them recover and rest up after that light stress issue. But like I said they are already looking better, so that is it for day 6 of the week and I will be back here in 24 hours for the last day of week 7!
Alright GreenBox Growers, we are back here 24 hours later for the last day of week 7. So the plants are looking better each day now that we have the second light turned off, they are looking healthier every 24 hours so that is good. And again just a reminder for the lights we are going to wait to turn that second one on for when we get right to the beginning of flower. In the meantime I'm just going to keep the one Electric Sky 300 watt LED on and we will slowly lower it a couple inches at a time, probably starting tomorrow. So tomorrow will be the first lowering, and another heads-up if I just refilled the TNB naturals CO2 canisters with 1 refill packet each so those are good to go for the next two weeks.
And since the plants are looking healthier, I am going to do some low stress training on the toddler tops after today's clip. So in the next shot you were going to see we are going to do the low stress training we are going to give them a misting, and then we will also be watering the plants today as they already. And that is going to be their second plane watering since the last nutrient feeding and we are going to split about 2 and 1/2 gallons between all for plants. Maybe a little less because it has been cooler lately, but I am just going to see how the runoff goes. So that is it for today's clip, I am going to water and mist them as well as the LST then now and then we will see you guys back here for the first day of week 8, peace!
Alright GreenBox Growers, so that officially concludes week 7 of vegetation for the OG Kush Screen of Green Grow series! now hopefully by the end of this coming week or by the beginning of week 9, we are going to be ready to start the flowering phase and what that means is we are going to add that second layer to the scrog net as well as do a Lollipopping and defoliation. Stay Tuned for next week's episode as we are going to start lowering the LED light during the week. And as always I want to thank you guys for watching this week's video, really hope you enjoyed it, and until next time...
