The Essential Supplies for Growing Cannabis at Home!

What is up Cannabis Growers & welcome back fro another episode of GreenBox Grown!  My name is Dylan and today I will be covering the essential supplies needed to grow top quality cannabis at home, and this will be the bare essentials.  To give you a comparison, our "Mini" Starter Kit series comes with the equivalent of the Bare Minimum of what you need to grow cannabis at home.  The other Starter Kits we offer, come with more than the essentials, making it easier to grow and produce top quality results!

The first set of supplies I will be discussing are the Germination and Seed Starting materials.  Some people prefer to start from clone in which case they can skip these supplies, but these can also be used for taking cuttings and growing them into clones.  You would just need to add a rooting gel.  For starting cannabis seeds, you need a humidity dome with vents and a tray, rapid rooters, a spray bottle and some solo cups.  The Humidity dome is great for growing the seedlings in and getting them off to a vigorous start!  The Raid Rooters are for planting the seeds in once germinated and help ensure the seed makes it to the seeding stage.  The spray bottle is for misting the dome and keeping humidity high, and the solo cups are for transplanting into once the seedlings are a little bigger.  For lighting, you can use your full powered light, but will need to raise it really high so it doesn't burn the seedlings.  I like to use a 45W light as it is the perfect strength for growing seedlings.  All of these products can be found in our "Seed Starting Kit" at the link below:

The next set of supplies you will need are the watering supplies.  This includes Nutrients, a pH pen, pH up or down, and a watering bucket.  There are a ton of different options when it comes to nutrients, but I always recommend starting of with a complete pack for beginners.  In our mini starter kit series, we include the General Organics Nutrient Trio which is the essentials you will need from start to harvest.  For the more advanced starter kits, we include the General Organics GO Box, which comes with a full line of nutrients for your plants.  These help you grow a more potent bud and a higher yield!

It is extremely important to pH all water and nutrient mixes you feed your plants, or else they will end up in really bad shape.  The pH I use is 5.8 and that is based on the medium I grow in, Coco Coir.  It varies from growing medium, so always check on the label what is recommended for pH.  Once you know the pH you would like to achieve, you need to test your water at home from the sink to see where it is.  If it is above your desired pH, then you will need pH down, and if it is below, then you will need pH up.  Our starter kits come with a pH kit which includes a pH pen and pH up/down.

Now we are going to take a look at the supplies needed for your growing space, whether that is an indoor tent or a greenhouse outside.  Either way the inside of your grow space will be set up almost the exact same way.  We offer Cannabis Growing Starter Kits for both indoor and greenhouse growers.

The most important items you need besides the grow space itself, are fans to keep good air circulation and a constant breeze.  Next you will need a heater, depending on how cold it gets where you live.  It must always be as close to 75 degrees F as possible in your grow room, as that can really change the growth of the plants.  Next you will need grow lights, which are optional if you are growing outdoors in a greenhouse.  If you want to grow year round in a greenhouse, you will need grow lights for supplemental lighting.

Finally, you will need your pots and soil.  The larger the pot you use, the bigger plant you can grow.  And with cannabis plants, the bigger the plant, the larger the yield!  I recommend using Smart Pots as they provide great aeration to the roots and are what we include in our starter kits!

Finally, you will need your harvesting supplies.  All this requires is a jewelers loupe for see when the trichomes are ready for harvest, a string for hanging the buds to dry, trimmers for trimming the buds, latex gloves for when you trim, and mason jars for curing the buds!

This may seem like a long list of items you need before you can grow cannabis at home, but it actually isn't that bad nor expensive.  Especially if you purchase through one of our starter kits which are starting at $150!  Another nice thing is most of the supplies you use with growing cannabis are reusable, so you only have to make the purchase once.  You will need to repurchase things like nutrients and soil, but that is a very rare thing and only costs a little bit at a time!  Again, all of our starter kits include everything you need in order to grow top-shelf cannabis from the comfort of your home.  Paired with our free collection of How-to-Grow Videos, The GreenBox Grown Starter Kits make cannabis growing easier than ever!

That is all I have for now, but as always thank you for watching and HAPPY GROWING!!!
